OKEECHOBEE, Fla. (CBS12) — Okeechobee County sheriff’s deputies and investigators from other agencies raided a house. After arrests were made and charges filed, they posted a sign in front.
“This Drug House is Closed by Sheriff Noel E. Stephen.”
Authorities converged on that home in Okeechobee on Thursday and arrested two people living there on gun and drug charges.
The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office said its Special Response Team – along with members of the Okeechobee Narcotics Task Force, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Homeland Security Investigations – executed a search warrant on the home on NW 285th Drive.
Inside, authorities reported they found numerous firearms, live ammunition, methamphetamine, and marijuana.
They arrested Bobby Joe Fulford, Sr., and Tanya Renee Huggins.
Both are charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felons, possession of methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine within 1000 feet of a state park, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a state park.
As for the sign, OCSO says it’s “proudly displayed for all to see,” and the Narcotics Task Force said it hopes the sign
“sends a strong message to those dealing drugs in our community. We will investigate you, and if probable cause is found, arrest and prosecute you.”
