DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — What happened at a wedding reception earlier this month was no cause for celebration.

Delray Beach police say they were called to a home on April 3 because a 9-year-old girl had been forced into a bathroom and inappropriately touched, the night before.

According to the arrest report, the victim and the suspect were at the home for a wedding reception.

An officer wrote, “The victim’s [loved one] reported the incident to police and advised that the suspect that touched [the victim] is known to them as ‘Ray’ and is [known to them] for years.”

Police say the victim was able to identify the suspect as Ray Crespo, 49, of Boynton Beach.

She reportedly told the officer, “At approximately 12:30 a.m., Crespo asked [the victim] where a bathroom was located. [The victim] walked Crespo over to the bathroom and at that point in time, Crespo grabbed the victim by the wrist and forced her into the bathroom.

“At this time Crespo then turned off the lights inside the restroom, lifted [the victim]’s dress from the outside, pulling up her dress to the middle region of her buttock area, and told the victim ‘Do not say anything.’ It should be noted that [the victim] was wearing a long dress down past her knees.“

The victim stated that she then turned herself around, elbowed Crespo in the stomach/chest region as hard as she could, and then ran out of the restroom.

Another officer returned the next day and was given audio and video surveillance from inside the home.

He wrote that at 23:45:03, he heard the homeowner saying ‘bathroom’ and referring to a sign that was posted for guests and seeing her “pointing in the direction where the bathroom is. At 23:45:09, the suspect walks out of the kitchen past [the homeowner] and the victim, and stops directly in front of the sign that was placed in the wall of the residence directing guests to the bathroom. It should be noted that the suspect appears intoxicated (unsteady on his feet) while exiting the kitchen area.”

Video showed the alleged crime happened quickly.

The victim appears upset and her body language appears fearful.

“At 23:45 17, the victim sits down on a couch inside the dining/living area. The suspect then walks toward the victim and converses with her. The victim can be seen getting up and guiding the suspect toward the bathroom where they then move out of camera view. At 23:45 47, the sound of a door closing can be heard. At 23:46:02, the victim comes back into camera review from the hallway where the bathroom is. The victim appears upset and her body language appears fearful. At 23:46:11, the suspect comes back into camera view and exits through the kitchen.”

Ramon Crespo is charged with lewd or lascivious false imprisonment of a child.

He was released in the evening of April 5 in lieu of $100,000 bond.
