Screaming protesters rush stage during DeSantis speech at New Hampshire GOP dinner

We don’t know how often this happens but protesters rushed the stage when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was speaking in New Hampshire, Friday evening.

It happened at the Amos Tuck dinner in Manchester. DeSantis was reminiscing about getting elected in 2018.

“Fifteen, eighteen,” the governor said, looking to his right rather than at the audience.

That’s when two young women rushed the stage with signs, screaming something like “Jews against DeSantis.”

The protesters were just feet from him when security people raced up and grabbed them.

“Get out of here!” someone in the audience screamed.

DeSantis paused and the audience grew loud while the security people took the protesters away.

“Losers!” someone else screamed at them.

“You got to have a little spice in the speech, right?” DeSantis ad-libbed to applause.

“Why you’d want to pay the ticket to get in just to do that?” he continued. “I don’t know but different strokes for different folks.”

DeSantis continued his speech with more on Florida’s election history with no more outbursts.

It’s not yet known what will happen to the protesters.

DeSantis has been speaking at events around the country — Ohio on Thursday night and Virginia earlier Friday — before the expected announcement he plans to run for president in 2024.

And, as he often does, DeSantis mentioned Holocaust survivor and leftwing financier George Soros, whose name has become a dog whistle for conspiracy theories. DeSantis blames Soros for paying to get district attorneys who don’t follow the law elected.

Lately, there have been threats against people believed to be on the other side, politically.

Three weeks ago, a powdery substance was found with a threatening letter in a mailroom at the office of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who is prosecuting former President Donald Trump.

More recently, the judge overseeing the trial of Fox News in the defamation suit brought by Dominion Voting Machines revealed at a hearing that he has been receiving death threats.
