PATERSON, N.J. (TND) ā The case of a missing 11-year-old girl from New Jersey ended with her safe return to her parents and the arrest of a man in Delaware.
The Passaic County prosecutor reported that police in Wayne, N.J., started investigating the missing girl at about 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10.
Police determined Darius Matylewich “met the victim while playing an online video game,” and that he took her south from Wayne to Bear, Del., ā where he lives ā “without the knowledge or consent of her parents.”
Police found the victim soon after in Delaware.
Matylewich was arrested the same day, extradited to New Jersey, and charged with first-degree kidnapping and endangering the welfare of a child.
