DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (TND) — A naked man and a police officer surprised each other when they came face to face at an intersection in Florida.
The Delray Beach officer wrote in the arrest report about being called to “a subject naked laying on the ground” after 1 a.m. last Thursday.
The officer described him as “nude, laying face down in the landscaping” and wrote about shaking the unknown man’s “shoulder a couple times to check if he was conscious.”
He continued, “After another shake, the subject started regaining conscious [sic] and started standing up. It should be noted that I was in full police uniform with police emblems on all sides.
“The male subject looked at me and then unprovoked and without warning suddenly punched me in my nose, causing epistaxis (nosebleed).”
Another officer serving as his backup used his Taser and the pair arrested 28-year-old Edward Tuttle of Boynton Beach.
The first officer added, “While he was sitting on the ground naked waiting for Fire Rescue, Tuttle advised he was drunk. Tuttle appeared intoxication [sic] with glossy, bloodshot eyes, and the odor of alcohol on his person.”
He was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and disorderly intoxication, and spent 16 hours in jail before bonding out.
It should be noted, the arrest report did not contain any information on where Tuttle’s clothes may have been.
