HARRISBURG, Pa. (TND) — A registered nurse accused of murdering patients she was supposed to care for is now facing dozens of new charges.

Heather Pressdee, 41, was first charged in May for what Pennsylvania’s attorney general called “her mistreatment of three patients.”

Thursday, the number grew exponentially.

The attorney general’s office filed charges alleging mistreatment of 19 more patients at five facilities since 2020. The victims’ ages ranged from 43 to 104.

Pressdee allegedly administered lethal doses of insulin to the patients. Some were diabetic and needed insulin, and some were not.

She allegedly did it during overnight shifts when fewer people were around.

The new charges are two counts of first-degree murder, 17 counts of attempted murder, and 19 counts of neglect of a care-dependent person.

The attorney general explained the attempted murder charges are for cases without physical evidence, the cause of death could not be determined, or the victims survived.

The facilities were Concordia at Rebecca Residence; Belair Healthcare and Rehabilitation (Guardian); Quality Life Services Chicora; Premier Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Center; and Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Anyone with more information should call the attorney general’s tipline at 888-538-8541.

Pressdee remains behind bars at the Butler County Prison without bail.
