BRADENTON, Fla. (TND) — A disturbance at a Florida trailer park ended with a man and woman dead by the time sheriff’s deputies arrived. Now, the woman’s son is charged with their murders and grieving relatives are angry with law enforcement.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said the first deputy to arrive just after noon on Friday saw a man running away, and authorities captured him in the neighborhood.
That suspect is 36-year-old Thomas Matejcek.
Deputies went inside and found the victims on the floor of their home. They’ve been identified as his mother, 62-year-old Patricia Matejcek, and her boyfriend, 55-year-old Sean Harrison, Sr.
The sheriff’s office did not mention the circumstances or a possible motive, but family members said of Patricia Matejcek on a GoFundMe page,
“She has faced years of physical, mental, and emotional abuse at the hands of this monster with no help from the courts to stop this man.

“Numerous attempts were made to beg for her safety to be met with incompetence, ignorance, and injustice. Our beautiful sister feared and begged for her life only to be told sorry.”
Thomas Matejcek is charged with two counts of second-degree murder.
