TAMPA, Fla. (TND) — A claims adjuster who helped a group of people commit a string of armed robberies around Florida has been sentenced to federal prison.

Prosecutors said Jasmine Weber knew that group “conspired with each other” between December 2020 and April 2021, and that they “carried out their crimes by pretending to be law enforcement officers.”

Then, “Members of this conspiracy provided Weber with identifying information on their potential victims [and] Weber researched those individuals on her Lexus Nexus account and located their home addresses.

“Members of this conspiracy then committed robberies at those residences, some of which resulted in victims being beaten, pistol-whipped, and shot.”

Weber even “purchased equipment for co-conspirators to use in the commission of these robberies, including sheriff’s vests, law enforcement patches, and light bars.”

Those crimes happened throughout Pasco, Polk, Lee, and Hillsborough counties.
