LANCASTER, Pa. (TND) — A man who raped a child and then returned to cause trouble at the victim’s home, years later, has been sentenced to decades behind bars.

The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office in Pennsylvania said Derrick Myers “committed the sexual offenses around 2018, which the victim disclosed in 2022.”

The victim’s mother was apparently his ex.

“Myers returned to the victim’s residence and barricaded the victim’s mother in her bedroom on one occasion,” prosecutors said, “and then went to a minor witness’ school with the hope of convincing the witness to take the blame.

“The witness reported to police that Myers told him to convince the victim’s mother to take him back, or he would have her killed, according to charging documents.

“The witness also reported Myers stating, ‘I should have killed her when I had the chance.’”
