CARLISLE, Pa. (TND) — A man in Pennsylvania who took a plea deal and confessed to killing his wife has been sentenced to decades in prison.
Christopher Colbert shot his wife Tamara Colbert to death at their home, last Christmas Eve.
According to the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, police got calls from her family that day “because he was not responding to phone calls after advising them that his wife Tamara was dead.”
Then, authorities said before police got to the couple’s home, “Colbert removed his bloody clothing and attempted to clean the crime scene.”
After that, investigators learned Christopher Colbert “had been having several extramarital affairs, had an alcohol addiction, and was being reprimanded at work.
“Shortly before her death, Tamara learned of the infidelity and had told a close friend that she was going to discuss it with Christopher.”
He’d already pleaded guilty to third-degree murder, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, and recklessly endangering another person.
Then, last Friday, he was sentenced to 22-50 years in prison.
