CHILLICOTHE, Mo. (TND) — A woman who served eight years for having her mother killed is set to be released from prison on Thursday.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard had her online boyfriend stab her mother Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard to death — 17 times in her sleep — back in 2015.

Nicholas “Nick” Godejohn is serving life without parole at a different Missouri prison.

Blanchard’s mother, who was 48, suffered from Munchausen by proxy, but it was her daughter who suffered.

Munchausen syndrome is when a guardian exaggerates or induces illness in a child for their own attention and sympathy.

Her mom had insisted that she suffered various made-up illnesses, causing her to undergo surgeries and take medications for no reason, since she was a baby.

The high-profile abuse case of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who is now 32, led to documentaries, an HBO film, and a Hulu series.

She’ll be released from the Chillicothe Correctional Center on parole, two years short of her 10-year sentence for second-degree murder.

The Missouri Department of Corrections now lists her legal name as Gypsy R. Anderson, since she got married behind bars last year.
