NAPERVILLE, Ill. (TND) — A man from Florida visiting family near Chicago for Christmas won’t be going home anytime soon. He’s charged with murdering his half-brother on the holiday.

The DuPage County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois got the call Monday afternoon and found James Watson inside a home with a gunshot to the abdomen. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators said they believe he “was upset that he could not find his cell phone and slammed a card table on the floor.”

Then, Kendall Yarborough, “who was upstairs, shot down towards Watson, striking him in the abdomen.”

After that, “a 9mm Sig Sauer P-365X handgun and one spent 9mm bullet casing” were found at the scene.

Yarborough, from Palm Harbor, near Clearwater, turned 29 on Friday.
