WILDWOOD, Fla. (TND) — A couple in a car described “a road rage incident” and they said the guy who did it looked like a character from a specific horror film.

A corporal with the sheriff’s office in Florida wrote in the arrest report, “The driver of a vehicle pulled out a firearm and pointed it in their direction.”

They described the suspect’s vehicle as, “A Chevy Cobalt, silver in color, with loud exhaust, chrome rims, and a ‘Watch for Motorcycles’ sticker on the right of the trunk.”

Then, they described the suspect as, “A white male in his late 30s, wearing a hat, a blonde ‘chin strap’-style facial hair, wearing a hoodie, and looking like Freddy Krueger.”

Many know Krueger from the “Nightmare on Elm Street” film series. The character has been around since 1984.

The couple also described the gun and said the girlfriend “began to get emotional” so the boyfriend “drove straight home to get away from the suspect.”

Also, “They were both in fear for their lives.”

The alleged crime took place Dec. 21 but two deputies found out and remembered “a traffic stop with the described suspect’s vehicle” six days earlier.

“The vehicle was noted to have a loud exhaust along with the ‘Watch for Motorcycles’ sticker on the same location,” the arrest report said.

They pulled up the registration and found, “The driver and registered owner of the vehicle was identified as Ralph Kennedy, Jr.”

They even had “body camera video from the incident on 12/15/2023,” when Kennedy was pulled over.

During that traffic stop, “The defendant was observed to have a BB gun-style firearm within his vehicle.

“The defendant advised the BB gun was in his vehicle due to him taking it to get it looked at and potentially ‘fixed’ for a family member.

“The BB gun was initially in the glove compartment of the vehicle and then placed on the passenger side floorboard at the deputies’ request.

“I was not able to determine if the firearm was in fact a ‘BB gun’ or a firearm due to the deputies not actually handling the firearm.”

The corporal investigating the alleged road rage wrote,

“Mr. Kennedy matched the physical description of the suspect [and] both Victim 1 and Victim 2 were able to positively identify the defendant in this incident as being Ralph Kennedy, Jr.”

A few days later, on New Year’s Eve, another deputy found Kennedy, who “stated he was delivering pizzas for Domino’s on 12/21/2023.”

The deputy asked “the defendant if anything occurred that evening to which he stated, ‘Oh yeah a guy ran me off the road.’”

Then, “The defendant stated he got mad and followed the other driver. He rolled his window down and ‘gave the bird’ to the other driver.

“The defendant denied pulling a gun or a BB gun. The defendant stated he owns a BB gun, but it was somewhere in his house.”

Apparently, authorities believed the couple in the other car.

Kennedy, 42, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

Online records show he has not been released from jail.
