LANCASTER, Pa. (TND) — A man in charge of children is accused of “14 offenses related to sex abuse of minors,” and what investigators say they discovered is disturbing.
Prosecutors in Pennsylvania say David Griffith “offered oral sex to a juvenile subordinate in exchange for being released early, recorded a 15-year-old victim changing with their knowledge, and admitted to engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old when he was 22.”
Griffith, now 28, is charged with two counts of knowingly photographing-filming-depicting a sex act, two counts of child pornography, four counts of corruption of minors, one count of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of invasion of privacy, two counts of tampering with evidence, and two counts of harassment.
The investigation started in October. Authorities have not said what led to it. He was charged in November.
Griffith worked at Lancaster magnet school Phoenix Academy as an “academic coordinator,” after five years teaching middle school English, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Authorities say that wasn’t all.
He volunteered as a middle school music director in another district and worked as a manager at a miniature golf course.
Plus, Griffith volunteered at First Presbyterian Church of Strasburg’s vacation Bible school.
He has been released from jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
