LADY LAKE, Fla. (TND) — This case moved slowly and the suspect wasn’t arrested for four months after the incident.

A sheriff’s deputy in Florida got called “to a complaint of a drunk driver who had fallen out of her golf cart,” according to the arrest report, back on the night of Sept. 22.

It said the deputy saw the golf cart “without its headlights and tail lights illuminated,” so he pulled Jennifer Lynn Ducat over and noticed her “eyes were bloodshot and watery, and her pupils to be dilated.”

While talking, it said the deputy “noticed the distinct and overwhelming odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the defendant’s breath as she spoke.

“As the defendant spoke, the defendant would speak slowly and her words were slurred.”

Paramedics arrived and said Ducat “required further medical assessment.”

She walked from the golf cart “to an awaiting stretcher” and the report said she “appeared unsteady as she walked.

“While in the back of the ambulance, I informed Ms. Ducat I had reason to believe she was impaired and agreed to perform field sobriety exercises.”

The lowlight happened when the deputy had her “recite the alphabet, to which the defendant replied, ‘A, B, C, D, I, F, E, I.’”

A breath test, which would normally be administered, could not be done.

The arrest report said it was “impossible to facilitate during this investigation,” so Ducat “consented to a blood draw, and “the specimen was sent to a [state] lab for processing.”

At this point, Ducat may have been taken away for medical attention.

The arrest report said the results came back three months later, on Dec. 21, they were high at 0.399%.

Ducat, 55, wasn’t arrested and charged with DUI until Jan. 27. She was released after almost four hours in jail.
