BUSHNELL, Fla. (TND) — An unusual 911 call came from a woman who said “she had kicked a window” at a motel and told dispatch “she was bleeding and needed help,” authorities in Florida say.

A deputy who arrived the morning of March 21 found “a large hole in a large single pane window near the door, which led into the room.

“I observed glass collected just inside the window leading into the room,” he wrote in the arrest report, “which was consistent with the glass being kicked from the outside of the room.

“I then observed a blood trail leading from the room and into the parking lot, where the defendant then entered into a white in color SUV.”

That woman, Kenya Renita Davis, was later found in an emergency room.

Security video showed Davis and another woman “repeatedly kicked the door,” then “continued to knock aggressively on the motel room door with their fists before kicking at the door.

“The kicks delivered to the closed door were aggressive enough to cause the door to ‘bow’ inward; however, the door never broke open.

“The defendant then kicked the window one time from the outside before it broke, thus resulting in the defendant’s leg entering the occupied room.

“This also resulted in the defendant injuring her leg.”

According to the arrest report, a man and woman were in that motel room. The man is the father of Davis’ child. The arrest report did not give an age or gender.

Davis spoke to him a few hours earlier, at around 2 a.m., and told the deputy “she believed her child was with [the man] in the motel room.”

She claimed he told her the child “was in the room with another female,” and it took a few hours to find out where he was, the arrest report said.

That’s when Davis and her friend went to the motel, found the room, and knocked on the door, “resulting in [the man] telling the defendant to ‘go away,’” the arrest report said.

She demanded he give her their child and “then kicked through the large single pane window with her right foot, ultimately causing the window to shatter.

“The defendant then realized her injury to her right leg and returned to the vehicle she arrived in,” and she left for the emergency room before authorities arrived.

Even in the E.R., the arrest report said, Davis “indicated” to the deputy “she intended to travel to the incident location to get her child.

“The defendant stated she believed her child was in harm; however, there was no explanation provided to me to sustain a warranted belief her child was in any danger.

“It should be noted, the child the defendant and [the man] have in common was not present in the motel room during the incident.”

Davis was treated and released, and then taken to jail.

The 18-year-old was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling unarmed, and property damage over $200 due to criminal mischief. Motel staff had estimated the window would cost $600 to fix.

Davis was released from jail after 24 hours.
