CLERMONT, Fla. – A woman with a recent string of arrests has been held almost a week after she was allegedly caught drinking an adult beverage she’d just stolen from a gas station convenience store.

Police in Florida got called “to a retail theft in progress” at about 2 a.m. last Friday, Sept. 13.

They reported finding Demisha Jackson walking nearby and she wasn’t empty-handed.

“Demisha had a four-pack of alcohol in her hand while actively drinking an alcoholic beverage,” her arrest report said, “that she recently just took.”

Two officers “made an effort to try and detain Demisha,” but that didn’t work.

“Demisha responded by screaming very loudly while trying to run and get away,” and it took four officers to make the arrest.

According to the store clerk, “Demisha entered the store in a blue dress and stated, ‘Buy your momma a beer.’

“He then advised he and his coworker ignored her, due to her not acting like she wanted to purchase anything at that time.

“[The clerk] informed [an officer] that she proceeded to grab one four-pack of Steel Preserve and one four-pack of Bud Ice.

“After retrieving these two items, she then proceeded to walk out of the store, passing all points of sale.

“[The clerk’ followed her while on the phone with dispatch till officers arrived.”

Jackson, 25, should’ve looked familiar. That was her fourth arrest by Clermont police in four months, and her third in three-and-a-half weeks.

In May, Jackson was charged with burglary and trespassing, and she spent three days in jail.

On Aug. 20 at another gas station, the clerk said Jackson “walked into the store and began to lean on the counter, trying to kiss [him].

“[He] asked Demisha to please leave the store; at this point Demisha turns around and shows [him] her butt.

“[The clerk] kept insisting on Demisha leaving the store but she refused to leave.”

Then, the arrest report said she “grabbed a pack of cigarettes” and two four-packs of beer, and “she tried to leave the store,” but it was too late. The clerk “held the door shut so she was unable to leave.

“Demisha then returned to the counter, grabbed a lighter and attempted to light one of the cigarettes inside of the store.”

That’s when police showed up and described Jackson as swaying and losing her balance.

“At some points during the interaction, Demisha almost fell over while she was standing still,” they reported.

Jackson agreed to plea no contest to retail theft less than $100.

Then, on Aug. 26, police called “to a report of an intoxicated female” found Jackson “unable to walk in a straight line” with “an open container of alcohol and cigarette in one hand and a large pack of beer in the other.”

When a detective “attempted to make contact with the suspect and gather information from her,” the arrest report said she told the detective, “I am your mother and I should know who she is.”

Eventually, the detective reached Jackson’s real mother who reportedly “was not able to come get her or her belongings.”

Jackson ended up charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting without violence. She spent two weeks in jail, pleaded no contest in another deal, and was released last Monday evening, Sept. 9.

After this most recent arrest, just days later, Jackson was charged with petit theft-third or subsequent offense and resisting without violence. Her bail was set at $2,000.
