From a pound of cocaine and 'dead hookers' to 'bleeding from his chin' and refused service

From a supposed pound of cocaine and ‘dead hookers’ to ‘bleeding from his chin’ and refused service

CLERMONT, Fla. – The suspect in this case was already “bleeding from his chin” when he arrived at a Chili’s restaurant in Florida, “asking for an alcoholic beverage.”

The manager told a sheriff’s deputy, “An employee informed the individual she would not serve him any alcoholic beverages due to the individual displaying sign[s] of intoxication.”

That was on the evening of Sept. 14, according to the arrest report.

“Upon notifying the defendant,” it continued, “the individual became irate and began yelling at multiple patrons within the establishment.

“While at the establishment, the employee advised he got into another patron’s face and attempted to start a fight with the other patron.

“The manager advised [the] defendant then left, headed in the direction of the library; however, lost sight of him after.”

That nearby library was precisely where “another call for service came out, in reference to an individual who vandalized a parked vehicle.”

The deputy was given a description of the vandal, “similar to the description given at Chili’s,” the arrest report said.

“After speaking with the manager,” the deputy wrote, “I canvassed the surrounding area for the defendant with the description provided.

“I then observed an individual matching the description.”

It was Jackson William Rooney, “sitting on the ground” outside the library, and he reportedly told the deputy, “He did go into Chili’s and attempt to get an alcoholic beverage.”

Then, “When the defendant was informed they would not serve him, he got upset and left the establishment.”

And a witness said she saw somebody “come up to a black-in-color Nissan parked in front of the library [address] take a vehicle charger and use it to smash the windshield of the vehicle, then walk away from the vehicle.

“The witness provided video footage of the defendant coming from the front of the library, seconds after the incident took place.

“The vehicle owner was notified and advised the damages to her vehicle would cost $1,400 USD to replace.”

Rooney was taken to jail, “where he was refused and had to be treated for lacerations on his face,” and then he was booked.

His previous arrest, three years ago, happened when a sheriff’s deputy “observed a gold-in-color BMW with a stuffed animal on the hood,” and ran the license plate.

It turned out Rooney, who owned the car, had a suspended license.

“The defendant was then placed under arrest,” the deputy wrote.

“While searching his person prior to entering the patrol vehicle, he advised there was a pound of cocaine and ‘dead hookers’ in his trunk.

“A vehicle search was conducted, yielding negative results.”

Eventually, more than two years later, Rooney ended up serving two weeks in jail and he was assessed fees, service charges, costs, and fines.

This time, the 24-year-old was charged with criminal mischief of $1,000 or more and disorderly intoxication.

His bail was set at $3,000 and he has not yet paid it or been released, and no explanation was given for his bleeding chin, either before the restaurant or during his arrest.
