ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A call about a suspicious vehicle led police in Florida to an SUV with a man “sitting in the driver’s seat, slumped forward, and swaying back and forth,” according to his arrest report.
Officers reported finding “a machete on the driver’s side dashboard” during that call at 5 a.m. on Sept. 29, and asked the man, later identified as Corey Scott Eminhizer, to get out.
UPDATE: Corey Scott Eminhizer was released on Oct. 28, after a month in jail, when he pleaded no contest to the drug paraphernalia charge and prosecutors dropped the Schedule II drug charge.
Then, he was arrested again 12 days later, on Nov. 9, as a passenger in someone’s jeep. The driver was stopped and Eminhizer “was not wearing his seatbelt,” the arrest warrant said. He allegedly said he was someone else, who authorities “could not find a return on the information provided.” Then, “After 20 minutes of inquiring about a valid identification, Corey stated, “I’m gonna give you my real name.’” He’s charged with giving a false ID to law enforcement, his bail was set at $500, and he has neither paid it nor been released.
“As he exited the vehicle, a small metal pipe containing a burnt leafy substance had fallen from his lap onto the ground,” one of the officers wrote.
“As I proceeded to place Corey in handcuffs to detain him, [another officer] observed in plain sight from the front passenger side of the vehicle a glass pipe with white powdery residue in the center console.”
The arrest report said, “Corey admitted there was meth and marijuana inside the vehicle, and admitted to using both drugs,” so authorities searched the SUV
“A small glass jar containing several small clear crystal-like substances were [sic] located in the center console,” they reported, “along with several glass pipes, a metal pipe with [a] burnt green leafy substance, and a small glass plate which contained a white powdery residue on it.
“In addition, a small purple plastic baggie contained a green leafy substance inside.
“Corey admitted to using glass pipes and [a] small glass plate to snort meth,” the arrest report continued.
It added, the clear crystal-like substance field-tested positive for meth and it weighed 0.20 grams, while the marijuana weighed 0.63 grams.
Then, “Fire Rescue was requested to respond due to Corey’s profuse sweating, out of concern if he may have taken any other narcotic. Once Fire Rescue arrived on scene to assess Corey, he was cleared on scene.”
And finally, before being taken to jail, “Corey wanted to leave his vehicle parked on the property and only wanted his cell phone and keys. I secured his vehicle and put his cell phone and keys in a small paper bag to go with him to jail.”

Eminhizer, 43, was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and with use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $6,000 and he has not yet been released from jail.
