City: Soda tax brought in twice as much money as expected in January

Philadelphia started a controversial tax on soda and other sugary drinks, back in the beginning of 2017. The city started taxing sweetened drinks at 1.5 cents per ounce to pay for community schools, prekindergarten programs, recreation centers, libraries and parks.
I wrote about all the hearings and protests before the tax went into effect, and here, when the first month brought in more than twice the money the city expected.
