SEPTA union strikes, afternoon rush hour to be affected

I usually like writing commuter stories because geography is a favorite topic and usually nobody gets killed. On the other hand, there could be a lot of unhappy travelers, which makes for good TV. That’s exactly what happened when SEPTA workers went on strike.

In this story, not only was I one of the unhappy travelers but count my parents too, since they were visiting from Florida. This was SEPTA’s city division, which meant no buses, subways or trolleys in the city were going anywhere. Regional Rail, which was hit hard and still recovering from having to fix defective train cars, continued to run.
