OCALA, Fla. – A mother-daughter argument ended with the older woman bruised and her live-in daughter arrested at work on a felony charge.
The alleged battery happened Sunday, Sept. 22, and authorities in Florida visited the 84-year-old victim two days later.
“The defendant and the victim were at their residence,” the arrest report said, “and the defendant started a verbal altercation with the victim due to the defendant being frustrated with assuming all of the financial responsibilities and caring for the victim.”
Property records show the mother is the sole owner of the house.
“The victim advised the defendant was drinking heavily,” the report continued. “The victim advised the defendant drank approximately three bottles of wine.”
“The victim advised the defendant began cleaning the bathroom. The victim advised at this time she was in her bedroom, sitting on the left side of her bed.
“The victim advised the defendant was yelling at her from the bathroom, and came into her room multiple times while still yelling at her.
“The victim advised, at one point, the defendant entered the victim’s room and picked up the victim’s walker, which was sitting next to the victim’s bedroom door.
“The defendant then threw the walker at the victim.

Then, a deputy wrote, “I observed the victim had a large black and purple bruise on her left forearm. The bruise was consistent with the victim’s statements of being hit with the walker.”
The daughter wasn’t home so deputies went to her workplace and wrote she admitted,
“She did have a verbal application with the victim on Sunday while she was watching football, and admitted to drinking due to Sunday being her day off work.
“The defendant advised the verbal altercation started when the septic tank backed up.
“The defendant advised her and the victim began arguing over finances, and the defendant having to take care of the victim.
“The defendant advised she never hit the victim with her walker, but the victim was in her room during the verbal altercation.”
