EUSTIS, Fla. – A woman no stranger to the criminal justice system was arrested again and this time, it was for what her ex-husband said she did to him in bed.
Like last time, she’s charged with battery on a person 65 or older – with her ex, the victim.
He told sheriff’s deputies Jacqueline Faye Giroux “threw a medium-sized glass ashtray at him while he was laying on his bed,” the arrest report said, “striking his right leg and causing a small cut.”
It happened in the Florida home the exes share on the afternoon of March 5. Authorities weren’t called until “a couple hours” later.
Then, “Upon observation of the victim’s leg,” a deputy wrote, “it appeared there was a small cut with blood freshly dried up.
“As I made my way into the residence where the incident took place, it was noticeable some sort of event took place in the back side of the residence, on the victim’s bed. There were broken pieces of glass laying on the victim’s bed and along the floor.
“There was also a purple liquid medicine splattered on the sheets of the bed, on the floor of the residence, and also on the curtains next to the bed, where the victim stated the defendant threw the medicine at him. It should be noted the victim had the liquid medicine splattered onto the front of his shirt.”
Deputies said Giroux denied it all.
“She stated nothing happened and that when she got home earlier in the day, the victim yelled at her for no reason,” the arrest report said. “The defendant repeatedly denied throwing the white glass ashtray and the liquid medicine at the victim while he was laying on the bed.
“The defendant stated she had been in her room drinking, up until deputies arrived.”
Giroux was arrested for battery on a person 65 or older.
It wasn’t the first time Giroux faced that felony.
She was also charged with burglary with battery and disorderly intoxication after a series of incidents on the evening of Oct. 5, 2023.
“Jacqueline was barefoot and walking the streets” after leaving her ex-husband’s former home, the arrest report said, “banging on neighbors’ doors until she arrived at [a witness’] door.”

Giroux told the woman “she was punched in the head and grabbed” at her ex’s home, and that “her right arm was hurting, her left forearm was bleeding due to the altercation, and she needed help.
“[The witness] noted that Jacqueline repeatedly asked for no medical assistance.”
According to a sheriff’s deputy, “Jacqueline indicated that she did nothing wrong several times.”
The deputy noted, “Jacqueline had a medical bracelet on her left arm, indicating she was just released from the hospital, which she confirmed she was earlier in the day due to being intoxicated.
“Jacqueline was asked if she had anything to drink tonight and willingly admitted to drinking a pint of liquor.”
But she denied striking her ex.
“Jacqueline also said she attempted to return to [her ex’s] house and retrieve her stuff,” the arrest report continued, “but he would not let her in and tossed the items in the yard.”
She told paramedics he “punched her and scratched her arm, triggering the bleeding.”
Her ex told deputies she “arrived at his doorstep and attempted to enter the home without permission. [He] said he noticed she was drinking and told her to leave several times,” but, “She entered the main house, began an altercation with him, and started throwing items in the house.
“[He] noted that Jacqueline began to pick up full bottles of 20 oz. Gatorade and throw them throughout the house, which a few of the bottles struck [him] on the right side of his face.”
He would not be charged.
“I did not see any marks or bruises on Jacqueline’s face to support her claims that [her ex] punched her during a physical altercation,” the deputy wrote. “Jacqueline did have dried blood on her right shirt sleeve and what appears to be from an open scab on her left forearm where she was bleeding from.”
She was taken to the hospital and then to jail, where she spent four days before bonding out.
Giroux didn’t stay out long. Six weeks later, her bond was revoked.
Two-and-a-half months after that, she changed her plea to no contest, got sentenced to time served, and was freed.

Giroux was also put on probation for three years, but it didn’t even last two months. “A urine sample” tested “positive for amphetamines and methamphetamines,” an affidavit said.
That wasn’t all.

She reportedly missed an appointment with her probation officer and then moved without permission. That last accusation came from “the offender’s boyfriend,” another man.
Giroux was arrested on a warrant and spent another two-and-a-half months behind bars. Again, she was freed after admitting to the violation.
Earlier in 2023, prosecutors dropped a felony charge of criminal mischief over $1,000, two weeks after Giroux’s arrest.
Her ex-fiancée, whose name was redacted from available documents,
said Giroux “maliciously and intentionally smashed out the windows of his truck,” according to an affidavit, and earlier, “took his phone, stating to him that if he did not buy her liquor, she would not give his phone back and would burn his house down.”

Prosecutors explained why they wouldn’t pursue the case, writing, “The victim no longer desires prosecution.”
In this month’s case, Giroux spent five days in jail until her release in lieu of $2,000 bond.
Her ex-husband is 70. Giroux is 54. The arrest report did not say when or for how long they were married.
Giroux’s arraignment is scheduled for March 31, and she has already pleaded not guilty.
